When it came time to review the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer, we felt a little skeptical. This is because we’ve reviewed tons of elliptical trainers over the years, and none of them have ever stood alone from the competition. The only thing we felt it had going for it in the beginning was the name Schwinn attached to it. After all, they are extremely reputable and have been for quite some time. So we decided it was time to see if the 430 really offered a better workout than all the other options out there.

For All Skill Levels?

When most people go searching for new elliptical trainer, they make the purchase on the skill level (and the cost of course). The reason this is so important is because you either purchase one for beginners, or one for experts. There doesn’t really seem to be too many companies that offer both. However, the Schwinn 430 Elliptical advertises that their elliptical is for any skill level. Obviously we were intrigued by this, so we got a couple people (beginner and expert) to try out the elliptical and provide us with their thoughts.

The individual with no experience found that he got a full body workout without having to spend a lot of time getting used to the elliptical’s movements. And even the experienced individual found that he was challenged by the Schwinn 430 Elliptical. He said he found that it combined upper and lower body flexibility nicely and that it provided impact-free motion. That’s just what we would look for in an elliptical trainer. But we still weren’t convinced. We wanted to test out the other features to see if it truly stood out amongst all the others on the market.

Special Features

So our goal was to truly find something wrong with the Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer. If we could find something that was damaging or created issues for the user, it would be easier to just add this elliptical to the other so-called ones out there. Oddly enough we kept coming across new innovations and various technology. One of them is the BioGlide motion, which is why it allows for natural movement.

To help challenge even the most experienced fitness enthusiast, there are eight computer controlled resistance levels and eight workout programs that include manual, six profile programs and a calorie goal function. Of course there is also a quick start function like most elliptical machines have.

Easy to Store

Storing options are always important, especially if you don’t have room for anything else in your home. Add in the stride only being 18 inches long, and those who have apartments will still be able to enjoy it.

The only drawback that we found when we used the Schwinn 430 is that the user can only be 275 lbs. or under. While that still may accommodate most people, there are some people out there who will find that inconvenient because they’ll be too heavy to use it.

In the end, the Schwinn 430 lived up to the hype and provided both our beginner and expert with benefits to using it. It was definitely nice to hear that our test subjects enjoyed using it, which means just about anyone can use it. So we highly recommend looking into all the benefits and features to the 430, because it could be the perfect choice for your new workout program.
